Frequently Asked Questions
1. What if I'm not sure which photo of my pet will make a good portrait?
I actually prefer to see several shots and to make a recommendation on which photo to use. If possible, please send along two or three photos. Not only does this give me a better idea of your dog's personality, it also allows me to choose the shot that will make the best composition for your portrait.
2. If I want a portrait of both my dogs, do they need to be in the same photo?
Absolutely not. I know how tough it is to get just one dog to sit still for the camera! Please send several shots of each dog and I can put them together in your portrait. It is helpful if you have one shot of the two pets together, so I can see their relative size, but for that, they don't even need to be looking at the camera.
3. How long will it take to get my portrait?
Allow about 3 to 6 weeks from the time you contact me to the time you receive your portrait. If the portrait is for a special occasion and time is short, please let me know. I will squeeze you in if at all possible.
4. Do you take credit cards?
No, at this time I do not take credit cards, but checks or money orders are welcome.
5. Is framing included in the price?
Rainbowdog portraits are painted on 1 1/2 inch deep gallery wrap canvases, with the sides painted a solid, complementary color. No framing is necessary with this contemporary treatment. Your portrait is ready to hang when you receive it. Clients who prefer to frame their portraits may request a traditional, 3/4 inch deep canvas, which is much more economical to frame.
6. Is shipping included in the price?
Shipping costs, if necessary, will be added to the final price for your portrait. Since shipping costs vary with the size of the canvas, I will advise you of the additional charge and add it to the final amount due once you have approved the painting. I ship all portraits fully-insure via USPS ground or FedEx.
